Six Sigma: Number of the Beast?
Could Six Sigma be the number of the beast?
The Greek letter Sigma is the eighteenth letter of the Greek alphabet. While in the Greek numerical system Sigma represents the number 200; its counterpart Stigma which is used when the letter ends a word, has a numerical value of six.
Six Sigma is a new business process which promises perfection - only four errors in one million events - a 99.9996% accuracy. Any mathemation would consider this perfection. This seems an impossibility if there is any human factor involved at all. Since humans even build the equipment that would be involved in measuring and monitoring such a process, I believe this accuracy is not attainable.
Since Sigma is the eighteenth letter, and stigma has a numerical value of six. I am proposing that Six Sigma might well be the number of the beast's name written of in the Book of Revelation; chapter 13.
6O = 6+6+6 s = 6
XES = 666; Sigma (O) is equal to three groups of six; hence the number 666.
The six designation before the sigma confirms the grouping. While stigma in sigma's word ending form further adds to this confirmation.
For some reason sigma was selected in the 1920's to represent the measure of business process errors. And now with its arrival to the six decimal point the Beast will probably use this system as his means of controlling his mark.
Rev 13: 16-18. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.
In the Greek, six hundred threescore and six is written XES. The number of a man in The Bible is six, always short of perfection which is seven.
