Copy of feedback I sent to Moen tonight:

Tonight, I just replaced my Moen shower handle for the fourth time since purchasing my house in 1999. This thing is cheap, weak plastic. It does not suffer from anything more than normal usage. The shower valve is in good condition and easy to operate (No hard turning required to turn off the water completely.) Once it was broken by a 7 year old.

Do you make a metal version of this handle (Something that would fit the same valve)? I am quite sick of buying a new handle every 14 to 16 months. While clear plastic looks nice, a metal core or reinforcement where the handle connects to the valve shaft is severely needed.
Please advise me on how to take care of this permanently. Thank you.

Just busted another one last night - turning the water ON. (Turning the water ON!!! Doesn't get easier than that!) If only I could get a handle made by a different company that would fit on my shower valve. These things are crap.

Shockingly, the last one I bought has lasted about 10 years! It's starting to get a bit loose, but still works good. I dunno if they improved the design or I just got one that happened to be tougher. Will let you know when it finally dies.
