I watched Keith Olbermann recite this tonight and I am struck by how, even as impressive and impassioned as he seemed, even He is still missing what he appears to be aiming at.
Specifically, The "public option" is NOT the same as "medicare for all".
He is arguing for "medicare for all" and this is terrific, BUT if we settle for a public "Option" we are still largely leaving the greedy, unnecessary, and increasingly costly insurance companies in control of our health.
Medicare for all IS "single payer" and the Senate of the United States of America has not even whispered this idea.
The corruption continues...

I'm not sure what you think that you may have read but Olbermann explicitly describes "Medicare for everybody" as the best alternative to our current healthcare financing problems.
