Wow, just got a great laugh reading my stupid old post. :) I've learned MUCH since then... Almost want to delete that old post in embarrassment!
Oh well, it gives me a funny point of reference to look at. Since then, I've worked and learned so much that I am responsible for all Linux machinea at a huge Fortune 100 company.

Ah yes! As a windoze IT; I barely remember newbie; but, as a Linux/Unix newbie - I am learning all over again - the pain, yes, the pain. Thanks for the info. Very useful. I hope I come back here in 5 years and can say the same.
