US Supreme Court: law text to be Open Source

We can now breathe a collective sigh of relief!

The supreme court refused to hear an appeal from West Publishing. For generations, they have been the exclusive publishers of almost all court cases in America. HyperLaw, makers of a CDROM law database, had sued them to allow the usage of the text of court cases on CDROM for fast searching.

This means something VERY important: It will now become easy and very affordable for ALL citizens to access the law, not just lawyers and the elite!
