I remember trying to listen to 2112 while on a shopping trip with my parents to Guildford mall. I was about 14 at the time. I convinced them to replace their "Roger Whittaker" tape with my copy of 2112.

Things were going OK, until the chorus:

What they said: "We are the priests of the temples... "
What my parents heard: "We are the priests, of the DEVIL..."

Mom and Dad lost their shiat. They accused me of being a devil worshipper, and confiscated my tape
