Today, Sat, Dec 7th, Sao Paulo will be my final gig with Iron Maiden. I wish the band much success moving forward.I will, however, remain firmly part of the Iron Maiden family working on a variety of projects, my long time managers, Rod Smallwood and Andy Taylor, have in mind for me. I remember trying to listen to 2112 while on a shopping trip with my parents to Guildford mall. I was about 14 at the time. I convinced them to replace their "Roger Whittaker" tape with my copy of 2112.Things were going OK, until the chorus:What they said: "We are the priests of the temples... " What my parents heard: "We are the priests, of the DEVIL..."Mom and Dad lost their shiat. They accused me of being a devil worshipper, and confiscated my tape

There is a certain amount of science to audio engineering , what I mean is that you have to make the sound fit into the medium, so you have to learn the limits of your medium, speakers and amplifiers. That’s what mastering is really all about. In fact, at first, mastering engineers were just that, engineers. All they did was make sure that the sounds they were given fit into the medium, but over time, mastering developed into the art that it is today, so as audio engineers we have to study both the science and the art. Wow, I bought this 31 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Although a few songs on this album (Queensryche: Empire) hit way better on the Top 40 Charts, this is still the best song. Much respect!
