"We the people" are the first three words of our nation's Constitution, but who were those people in 1787? Dr. Howard Zinn, the renowned, honest historian, states in his best-selling book, A People's History of the United States: "The majority of the 55 men who framed the Constitution were men of wealth in land, slaves, manufacturing or shipping." Clearly, most people were not included in that original draft of the Constitution; no women, Native Americans, poor white men; and, absolutely, no enslaved Africans. What have the masses of people done who are treated as outcasts by "we the people"? They, through the purity of the unceasing human spirit, forced 27 amendments to the Constitution that have guaranteed fundamental rights to all people.finally doing what the framers should have done in 1787.Now enters an American citizen, Bill Cosby. The overall media, with their frenzied, relentless demonization of him and unquestioning acceptance of accusers' allegations without any attendant proof, have superseded the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which guarantee due process and equal protection, and thereby eliminated the possibility of a fair trial and unbiased jury. Bill Cosby was labelled as guilty because the media and accusers said so. period. And the media ensured the dissemination of that propaganda by establishing barricades preventing the dissemination of the truth in violation of the protections of the First Amendment. Are the media now the people's judges and juries?Since when are all accusers truthful? History disproves that.for example, Emmett Till's accuser immediately comes to mind. In 1955, ...

So, for a while now, we've had Pascal's Wager, which said that a rational person should live as though God exists and seek to believe in God. Because if God actually does exist, such a person will only lose their opportunity to posess material things by swearing off this physical world and only concentrating on the next world; wherefore they stand to receive infinite gains in heaven and avoid infinite losses in hell.Well this seemed to make a lot of sense to me in the past. Then I learned to look beyond myself and instead focus on ourselves as a species. Back when we were just a bunch of simple medieval tribes, everyone following Pascal's Wager had basically no negative possibilities. (Looked at fatalistically anyway, where everyone dies and nothing really matters)But now that our species has reached the point where we have the knowledge to basically destroy the planet, and our simply existing in such large numbers is causing such a load on the natural ecosystems that it could lead to runaway greenhouse effects turning this planet into another Venus and killing all life in the process. Now, if we look at species survival as the primary concern, being idiots and sticking to pointless Pascal's Wager could cause the death of all life on the planet. So now it no longer profits us as a species to allow believing in mythical creatures that will save us from ourselves. We can no longer just passively exist, we must take steps to clean our house ...

The God of the Bible is a genocidal asshole who created a flawed and degraded world of reduced resources and pain, yet he refuses to do anything beyond punish its population for not kowtowing to him in worship. In the Christian Bible he has to send a portion of himself, rendered physical, as a way of teaching the humans of his creation to love him better, and possibly love themselves. Yet his powers are so reduced this god-thing mostly fails in his mission and has to die to sacrifice himself to gain attention. We have a God who has created a horrifying environment, but is so malevolent and arid that he refuses to actually fix any of it, or at least take the blame. The hero of the Christian mythology is Lucifer/Satan (I know there are differences). He is the one who recognized what a disgraceful mess God's creation was and, in an effort to draw attention of the demonic master and/or lead the way to spiritual freedom, revolted. We are literally, if we take the Christian mythology as somehow true, reading the Bible of the benighted, hateful master who has only caused us harm and cannot take stock in what he has done.

"Fremdschämen describes the almost-horror you feel when you notice that somebody is oblivious to how embarrassing they truly are," writes Daniel Hawes in Psychology Today. "Fremdscham [the noun] occurs when someone who should feel embarrassed for themselves simply is not, and you start feeling embarrassment in their place."
